Description of project: The project aims to study film propaganda as one of the aspects of modern totalitarianism. The project centres on the following questions: How did production of films work under Nazism and Communism? What were its tasks and possibilities? How was it perceived? The projects explores the functioning and transformations of cultural policy in the years 1939–1989, production and distribution practice, censorship and the structure of cinematography and television.
