Opus Bonum

Implementation: 2015–2018

Head of project: Petr Placák

Description of project: The lay Catholic organization Opus Bonum (OB) was established by Czechoslovak émigrés in 1972 in the then West Germany in order to preserve and further develop Czech and Slovak Christian culture in exile. Symposia organized by the OB became a place of confrontation of various opinion streams within the Czechoslovak exile, including the ex-Communists. The aim of the project is to map these ideological differences and currents and to put the OB symposia in the overall context of 20th century Czechoslovak culture.
