Historians visited partner institutions in Ukraine

In the past few days historians Anna Chlebina, Adam Hradilek, and Jaroslav Formánek from The Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (ÚSTR) visited partner institutions in Ukraine. The main aim of the visit was to sign a cooperation agreement with the Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine (TsDAGO of Ukraine) and express support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. Thanks to this agreement, it will be possible to digitalize the first 150 files of The People’s Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD). These files contain investigation records related to members of the Czech community in Ukraine and files about the partizans’ groups, which operated in Czechoslovakia during WW2. The first 50 files will be processed within project Czechoslovaks in the Gulag.
