International conference on 60th anniversary of Radio Free Europe

The representatives of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian regimes took part on an International conference on 60th anniversary of Radio Free Europe in Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic on 5 May 2011. The conference was opened by Prime ministers of the Czech Republic and of the Slovak Republic. It is part of series of events to the anniversary organised by the Czech radio with support by the Institute and the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University among others. The director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian regimes Mgr. Daniel Herman took part at the launch of the conference. Among the research who presented papers on Radio Free Europe was also 1st vice-director of the Institute PhDr. Jan Kalous with presentation on activities of communist agent Pavel Minařík in RFE. The event is accompanied by an exhibition on six decades of history of Radio Free Europe prepared among others by the Institute experts led by Bc. Michal Hroza and presented in the Valdštejn gardens next to the Czech Senate.
