The opening of the exhibition “Prague through the Lens of the Secret Police” in Moscow
The “Prague through the Lens of the Secret Police” exhibition opened amidst great interest on Friday, 18 March 2011 at the Andrei Sakharov Centre in Moscow. The exhibition was opened by the Czech Republic’s ambassador to the Russian Federation Petr Kolář. The actual opening of the exhibition was preceded by a roundtable debate on the subject of “Lustration as a Stimulus for Political and Social Transformation in Post-Soviet Countries”. The Czech Republic was represented in the debate by Pavel Žáček and the Council member of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes Petruška Šustrová. The discussion was moderated by the German historian Lorenc Erren. Other participants comprised Mariusz Volos from the Polish Academy of Sciences, Nikita Petrov from Russia’s Memorial society and Radio Liberty correspondent Mikhail Sokolov. Both events were prepared in cooperation with the Czech Centre in Moscow.
